The Black Dahlia: A Murky Murder Tale of Missed Opportunities

Betty Short, a pretty Hollywood starlet, was 22-years-old when she was bludgeoned, sodomised, mutilated, cut in half, and then abandoned in the vacant lot in downtown Los Angeles where she was discovered in January, 1947. Her murderer has never been identified. Nicknamed “The Black Dahlia” by the press, she entered Tinseltown legend in a manner quite different from the way she had hoped: famous not for her films, but for her autopsy photos.
